Trans-PRK (Transepithelial Photorefractive Keratectomy) is a highly advanced laser procedure that corrects refractive errors completely without contact. Also known as “No-Touch Laser Eye Surgery”, this surface-based treatment is especially gentle and non-invasive.

Preliminary Examinations

Using state-of-the-art technology, we carry out comprehensive diagnostics and take time to answer your questions. If, together, we decide on the Trans-PRK method, you’ll receive detailed information about the procedure and aftercare.

On the Day of Treatment

On the day of your treatment, we kindly ask you to avoid makeup, face creams, perfume, or aftershave, as these may irritate the eye. You may eat and drink as usual before the procedure. Before we begin, we’ll answer any remaining questions and explain the next steps in detail.

Step-by-step to success

The actual laser treatment takes only a few seconds.

Schritt 1

Vorbereitung

Sie können vor der Behandlung normal essen und trinken, da wir lediglich Ihr Auge mit Augentropfen betäuben. Der Behandlungsbereich wird desinfiziert.

Schritt 2

Laserbehandlung

Der Excimer-Laser entfernt die oberste Schicht der Hornhaut, das sogenannte Epithel. Daraufhin beginnt er sofort mit der Korrektur der Fehlsichtigkeit, die nur einige Sekunden dauert.

Durch das Eye-Tracking-System arbeitet der Excimer-Laser sehr präzise und kann sofort auf kleinste Augenbewegungen reagieren.

Schritt 3

Verbandskontaktlinse

Anschließend verabreichen wir Ihnen infektionsvorbeugende und entzündungshemmende Augentropfen und setzen Ihnen eine Verbandskontaktlinse als Schutz ein. Die Verbandlinse entfernt Ihr Arzt nach fünf bis sechs Tagen.

Schritt 4

Nachkontrolle

Im Anschluss werden die Augen noch einmal kontrolliert.
Zudem vereinbaren wir gleich einen Termin zur Nachkontrolle mit Ihnen.

All further follow-up appointments are scheduled individually as needed. For this purpose, our ophthalmologist's office is available to you.
