PresbyMAX – Laser Treatment for Presbyopia

The PresbyMAX method is a minimally invasive laser eye procedure, typically performed in combination with Femto-LASIK (in rare cases also with Trans-PRK), and can enable a life without reading glasses.

This method focuses on the treatment of presbyopia (age-related farsightedness) and other refractive errors and is offered to patients from the age of 45. During the procedure, the cornea is shaped so that one eye is optimized for distance vision and the other for near vision. This approach compensates for presbyopia and corrects refractive errors – restoring clear near vision.

On the day of your treatment, please avoid makeup, face creams, perfume, or aftershave, as these can irritate the eye.
You may eat and drink normally beforehand.
Before the procedure begins, we will gladly answer any remaining questions and explain the next steps in detail.

Procedure of the PresbyMax Treatment

Step-by-step to success

The treatment with the laser takes a maximum of ten minutes.

Schritt 1

Vorbereitung

Sie können vor der Behandlung normal essen und trinken, da wir lediglich Ihr Auge mit Augentropfen betäuben.

Schritt 2

Präparation der Hornhaut

Zunächst wird die oberste Hornhautschicht mithilfe eines sogenannten Schwind Lasers präpariert. Je nach Methode entsteht dadurch ein Flap (FEMTO-Lasik) oder aber die oberste Schicht der Hornhaut wird manipuliert (Trans-PRK).

Schritt 3

Laserbehandlung

Daraufhin erfolgt die Korrektur der Fehlsichtigkeit durch den Excimer-Laser, die nur wenige Sekunden dauert. Durch das Eye-Tracking-System arbeitet der Excimer-Laser sehr präzise und kann sofort auf kleinste Augenbewegungen reagieren.

Schritt 4

Abschluss Behandlung

Anschließend verabreichen wir Ihnen infektionsvorbeugende und entzündungshemmende Augentropfen und setzen Ihnen eine Verbandskontaktlinse als Schutz ein. Zudem vereinbaren wir gleich einen Termin zur Nachkontrolle mit Ihnen.

Further follow-up examinations will be scheduled individually as needed. For this purpose, our ophthalmologist's office is available to you.
