The PresbyMAX method is a minimally invasive laser eye procedure, typically performed in combination with Femto-LASIK (in rare cases also with Trans-PRK), and can enable a life without reading glasses.

This method focuses on the treatment of presbyopia (age-related farsightedness) and other refractive errors and is offered to patients from the age of 45. During the procedure, the cornea is shaped so that one eye is optimized for distance vision and the other for near vision. This approach compensates for presbyopia and corrects refractive errors, restoring clear near vision.

Preliminary Examinations

Using state-of-the-art technology, we perform comprehensive diagnostic exams and take the time to answer all your questions.
If we jointly decide on the PresbyMAX method, we will provide detailed information about the procedure before and after the laser treatment.

On the Day of Treatment

On the day of your treatment, please avoid makeup, face creams, perfume, or aftershave, as these can irritate the eye.
You may eat and drink normally beforehand.
Before the procedure begins, we will gladly answer any remaining questions and explain the next steps in detail.

The PresbyMax method is only performed at our eye clinic if the stability of the eyes has been confirmed. If this is the case, the visual acuity should no longer change significantly.
As a result, the laser treatment leads to a permanent correction.

Since numbing eye drops are used before the laser treatment, the procedure is completely painless. In the first few hours after the treatment, you may feel a slight pulling sensation.
With the Trans-PRK method, a mild foreign body sensation may also occur after the procedure. With FEMTO-LASIK, you will hardly feel anything at all.

Only state-of-the-art Schwind technology is used for laser eye treatments at our clinic. This system includes multiple safety features, including 7D eye tracking,
which allows the laser to react within milliseconds to even the smallest eye movements
and to stop the treatment immediately if necessary.

In addition, the laser only treats the outermost layer of the cornea.
As a result, complications — or even blindness — are completely ruled out when undergoing laser eye surgery.

On average, our PresbyMax patients are between 45 and 50 years old.
Therefore, treatment for presbyopia is generally recommended from the age of 45.
