The treatment takes four to five minutes per eye, the laser treatment itself only a few seconds. Including preparation and follow-up examination, you will spend about one hour with us on the day of treatment.

No, this is not possible. The laser only affects the front layer of the cornea.

Depending on the method of laser surgery, the laser treatment costs between € 990 and € 1670 (including VAT) per eye. We have compiled an overview of the treatment costs for you!

In principle, statutory health insurance does not cover treatment costs for laser eye surgery in Vienna. However, you can claim the costs for laser eye surgery in Vienna as part of your annual employee tax assessment under the item “Extraordinary medical expenses” and receive an individually calculated amount back from the tax office.

In order to determine whether laser eye treatment is right for you, we recommend a free, no-obligation and personal initial consultation with our experts.

The age for laser eye treatment is between 18 and 45 years. Laser eye treatment is still possible at a later age, but in most cases age-related farsightedness occurs after the age of 45, and this can no longer be corrected by laser treatment. Our experts will be happy to advise you whether laser eye treatment is right for you.

Minimum age: 18 years

We only perform laser eye treatments if you are at least 18 years old. Until then—and in most cases even beyond—the development of the eyes is not yet complete. In the further course of development, final visual acuity can still change considerably. Eye surgeries performed too early therefore often lead to recurrent defective vision.

We treat farsightedness up to +4 dpt, nearsightedness up to -8 dpt and astigmatism up to 5 dpt.

There are methods of treating presbyopia, but they are not suitable for every patient.

Yes, we can correct corneal astigmatism up to five diopters.

It is best to come to us rested and with breakfast in your stomach. Please stop wearing contact lenses one week before the treatment and do not wear makeup, face cream, perfume or aftershave on the day of the treatment.

No, the treatment is not painful. You may feel a slight pulling sensation in the first few hours after the treatment.

Yes, you can. In fact, it is beneficial and we strongly recommend it.

We recommend that you refrain from strenuous physical activities for two weeks after the treatment. However, you may of course move about as usual and take walks. After one week, cardio training or jogging, for example, is definitely possible.

Depending on the treatment method, you can see very well without glasses as early as the next day.

You can go home about 30 minutes after the treatment.

You can wear make-up again after 10 to 12 days.

If your refractive error is stable at the time of treatment, the correction performed is permanent.

With Trans-PRK, you may experience a slight foreign body sensation after treatment. With FEMTO-LASIK you will feel practically nothing.

It is best to wait until you are no longer breastfeeding, as dioptric fluctuations are possible during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

If after a thorough examination of the cornea and the eye and after detailed explanation and information, all medical and optometric parameters are within the tolerance ranges, you are ideally suited for laser eye treatment.

In FEMTO-LASIK, we use our Swiss FEMTO-LASER ZIEMER Z4 to prepare an extremely thin layer on the surface of the cornea so that we can laser the thickness of the underlying layer to “zero”. We then place a protective lens on the eye. The protective lens remains on the eye for one night. The next day, we remove it.

During Trans-PRK, the top layer of the cornea is removed using our excimer laser, and then the underlying layer is sculpted to correct the previous refractive error.

Immediately after the treatment, the previously ablated top layer of the cornea heals on its own and is protected from dust and other particles by a bandage contact lens for up to five days.

Immediately after the treatment, your eyes will be examined by our doctors. Another examination will take place the day after. The last examination will take place three months after the treatment. Further follow-up examinations are scheduled individually as needed. For this purpose, you can make use of our health insurance company.
